II./ZG26 May-1944 Questions

I have some questions concerning 6./ZG26 in May-1944.

Firstly, 'Luftwaffe Emblems 1939-1945 by Barry Ketley' indicates that 6./ZG26 employed the 'Wooden Clog' emblem as the 'Staffel Wappen' on their Me-410 machines however, does anyone know whether the Horst Wessel shield was also employed at the same time?

Secondly, are the exact nature of the Reichvertidung missions undertaken by 6./ZG26 known in the days leading up to 24-May-1944? Is it known which bomber formations were engaged or what the attacking targets were?

Finally, I am trying to ascertain whether Me 410 A1-U/4, code '3U+KP' Werk-Nr. 420503 was fited with the BK5 Cannon? I understand that some II./ZG26 machines were fitted with the cannon however, I am unsure whether it can be ascertained as to whether the machine in question was.

Also, if anyone can point me in the right direction for a good photo source for Me-410 machines of 6./ZG26, I would be very grateful.

Any help will as always, be very much appreciated.

Regards Richard.

II./ZG26 May-1944 Questions

Bringing this one back to the top and will attempt to clarify the third part of the question.

Messerschmitt Me-410 (which according to the NVM has A1-U/4 and then a ? entered) code '3U+KP' Werk-Nr. 420503. My question is was the machine indeed a A1-U/4 varient which was fitted with the BK5 Cannon?

I understand that some II./ZG26 machines were fitted with the cannon however, I am unsure whether it can be ascertained as to whether the machine in question was.

Any help with any part of the question will be very well received indeed.

Regards Richard.
