Any comments much appreciated.

Re: Iv./jg 4

The following is from Eric Mombeek's book about JG 4 "Chasseurs d'assaut" (in French):

II.(Sturm)/JG 4 and IV./JG 4 took off at 10h40 to intercept heavy bombers flying east (probably 1st and 3rd BD going to Berlin). They flew NE. After about 20 minutes, Uffz Josef Dittrich (14./JG 4) should leave the formation and force-land his Bf109 G-14/AS WNr 783907 at Gassenheim, 26 km NW of Würzburg. Damage unknown but pilot was wounded.
The other pilots searched for a long time the Allied formation but didn't find it (only IV./JG 4 saw 6 P-38s that didn't engage) and with fuel near exhausted could'nt return to their base but landed in a small airfield near Eisfeld around 13h00. Two pilots of II.(Sturm)/JG 4 turned over while landing there. Uffz Friedrich Brandt, one one the last experienced pilots of 8./JG 4 was killed aboard Fw190 A-8/R2 WNr 682246 and Uffz Helmut Pirmann wounded aboard Fw190 A-8/R2 WNr 682242. The damage percentage of their aircraft is unknown. Oblt Lothar Wolff, Staffelkapitan of 15./JG 4, belly-landed on this airfield his Bf 109 G-14/AS "16 yellow" but was unhurt.
The third loss of the IV./JG 4 occured during a ferrying flight. Gefr Johann Heinz of 13./JG 4 took off from Göttingen with Bf 109 G-14/AS WNr 782323 but met a bad weather front and hit the ground at Hannoversch-Münden. He was killed and the fighter was destroyed at 100%.

So one loss arout 11h00, one around 13h00 and one at unknown time.
