Question on Helmut Haugk III/ZG26
I just came over from the Falke Eins blog where they have a picture of a Bf110 that was possibly flown by Ofw Helmut Haugk III/ZG26.
It's mentioned that he claimed two B-24s on August 29,1942. Can't find any Allied Liberator losses on this date. He does a have a Claim in Tony Woods listing :29.8.42 Ofw Helmut Haugk 9./ZG26 Liberator 1806 Another is the determination of who shot down Lt. Frank Newtons 98th BG B-24 Liberator on August 21,1942. Only the pilot and the bombardier survived a rough ditching and previous battle damage. There are two claimants: Uffz Hans Lauf 7./ZG26 Liberator 1820 Ofw Walter Weiss 9./ZG26 Liberator 1850 |
