Gefr Werner Heidorn & Uffz Heinz Dhein, 2/JG51, 27 Nov 1940

Could someone please assist me by identifying the aircraft being flown by Gefr Werner Heidorn and Uffz Heinz Dhein when they failed to return across the Channel on 27 November 1940?

I understand Heidorn may have been flying black 7+, but what were the Me109E sub-version and Werknummer, please?

My notes also suggest that Dhein was flying WNr 3745, black 6+, but what was the sub-version, please, and are the other details correct?

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve

Both Bf 109 were from the sub-version E-4/B.
Heidorn was flying the Bf 109 / 4104.
The other details seems me correct.

best wishes
JoMe

2./JG51 Messerschmitt Bf109E-4/B (3745). Shot down in combat with Spitfires of No.41 Squadron during Jabo sortie to London and crashed in the Channel 3.45 p.m. Possibly that claimed by Sgt J. McAdam. FF Uffz Heinz Dhein missing. Aircraft Black 6 + 100% write-off.

2./JG51 Messerschmitt Bf109E-4/B (4104). Shot down in combat with Spitfires of No.41 Squadron during Jabo sortie to London and crashed in the Channel 3.45 p.m. Possibly that claimed by S/L D.O. Finlay but also attacked by Sgt D.A.S. McKay of No.421 Flight just prior to crash. FF Gefr Werner Heidorn missing. Aircraft Black 7 + 100% write-off.
One of the above aircraft was witnessed to have crashed in the sea two miles south of Rye Harbour.
