F/O Joseph Levy - Crashed in a P-40 on July 24, 1943 (July 25 on Japanese time).

http://www.pacificwrecks.com/aircraft/p-40/levy.html

"Japanese forces buried the pilot's body and erected a wooden cross and a memorial marker that read: "Sleeping here a brave air-man who last youth and happiness for his mother land - July 25 Nippon Navy". Note, since Kiska was across the international dateline, the Japanese listed the date of loss as July 25."

"This grave was located and photographed by the US Army when they reached the area in the middle of August 1943. In one photo, the grave is on bare ground. In another photo a circle of rocks was placed around the grave. Afterwards, his remains were exhumed and transported back to the United States and permanantly buried at Long Island National Cemetery at section H site 9041."
