A hook from a Ju88 -C6

Dear All,

This hook comes from a JU88 C6 (Wnr 750814) from 3/ZG1 that crashed on 7 March 1944 in the South of France ;
Anybody reading this post has any idea what this hook was used for ?

As you can see, marking is:

"R8 88.624-12/2 a
mdr 96 396
3115.4 4"

The crew of this JU88 was
F Fw Döhler, Heinz,
B Uffz Gargulak, Friedrich,
Bf Uffz Bongers, Ernst,
