FW-190 A8 "Red 11" of 14/JG54
Hello all.
I was lurking around here for some time but until now I didn't have guts to bug you. ![]() I was thinking to paint a skin for FW-190 A8 for the game "Aces High" I saw this colorful profile and I like it : http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../ec76cover.gif http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/ad48233a.jpg I was looking for some info on this aircraft for two weeks and i found alost nothing. No Pictures, no werk number. . What I found was a lot of contradictions. First as you can see there are two color profiles floating around on the net. One grey (RLM 76/74/75) and other one in late colors green/brown (RLM 76/81/82). I posted on pacific fighters skins forum but I got little info. Unfortunately I have no werk number to trace the colors by production time. The info I found identifies the plane as "FW-190 A8 March 1945 at Sachen/Germany, this A/C is based on a photo reportedly taken in march 18 1945". I saw some reference to a picture at page 372 in some book ( Docovin "Le FW190") ??. I was searching the net for the book but nothing came up. Do You Gents have any kind of info about this plane. Photos, some reference to a book I could find. Anything would do. At this point i don't know if this was a real aircraft, or is just some nicely painted decal. ![]() |

Re: FW-190 A8 "Red 11" of 14/JG54
Well, the book is real. It is Le Focke Wulf 190 by Jean Yves Lorant and Jean-Bernard Frappe by Docavia Editions in 1981. It is OOP but worth getting, even though it is in French, for the photos. The photo of the aircraft is on that page and shows all the detail except the tail surfaces. I do not have a WNr.

Re: FW-190 A8 "Red 11" of 14/JG54
I can't find the book online.
![]() ![]() Does anybody have that picture and the info about "Red 11" on page 372? Or anything about this aircraft? I'm stuck with the colors of the aircraft. I don't know exactly if was painted in RLM74/75/76 or RLM 81/82/76. Thank you. |
