You are looking for NZ401816 Sgt (Air Gnr.) Albert George SMITH RNZAF, not service number 8401816.

See: Bomber Command Losses 1941 (Vol.2)/Chorley. p.120 - 16/17-8-1941 -No.97 Sqn - Manchester I L7384.
