Hello
I have questions, according to D. Hermann JG 11 lost two Ta 152s to Spitfires in the last days of April 1945 during the transfer from Neustadt-Glewe to Leck airfield and a third Ta 152 of that
Schwarm made a belly landing at Leck airfield. But according to
http://www.ww2.dk/air/jagd/jg11.htm the transfer happened on 2 May 1945 and as it happened F/L D.I. Hall claimed on that day three Fw 190s and one Me 108 destroyed and one of each damaged near and over Neustadt Glewe aerodrome. see:
http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.o...all_2may45.jpg . So far so good, the problem is that Hall reported nothing extraordinary on the Fw 190s, so he didn't notice, or at least not reported, long-span wings, which not necessarily means anything, the level of a/c recognition was what it was. But on the other hand Hitchcock in his Ta 152 book claims that two Ta 152C-1s were hastily delivered to JG 301.
So the questions:
Are there nowadays more accurate info on the Ta 152 losses of the JG 11, where and on which date?
Was any Ta 152C (or E-1) delivered to a combat unit? And if was, was it possible that those would have ended to JG 11?
TIA
Juha
