Loss of Oblt Willi Meier and Oblt Heinrich Schedel 24 April 1945 near Burgau

Hello,

I have a document group that belonged to an observer from KG 100. In summer 1944 he flew missions with Do 217 M and Fritz X or Hs 293 against Allied ships.

Based on the documents I have, I know that at the beginning of 1944 he started pilot training and got his badge in April 1944. In September 1944 he traveled to JG 51, but I don't know if he later flew for this unit. After that nothing until 24 April 1945, when he was killed in a aircraft together with Oblt Heinrich Schedel. The aircraft (type not specified, but may be a nightfighter) was shot down by Americans at night.

Since it was so late in the war, the loss was probably not officially recorded anymore. But still, I thought I give it a try to ask in this forum if anybody has any information.
