any information on owf hans todt 1jg/301 and jg7 1944

would any body be able to help I am looking for imformation on owf Hans Todt who may have shot down a halifax of 161 sqn in an area near the french/belgium border on the night 8/9 augurst 1944 The halifax was dropping supplies to the french and was downed at the drop zone. all the crew were killed including my uncle who was the rear gunner. their bodies are in the cemetery at Cugny Aisne which is near where they went down. dennis markson replies dennis@markson.co.nz

Hi Dennis,

I reproduced an original photo of Ofw. Hans Todt standing on the wing of his Bf 109 G-6 of 2./JG 301 early 1944. You can see this picture in JB Frappé's book "La Luftwaffe face au débarquement allié " on page 280 (Editions Heimdal ISBN 2 84048 126X). Unfortunately this pic and others were taken in the first weeks of 1944 in Germany, not in France.

Did you already see the report about I./JG 301 night activity in France at the summer of 1944 in Air Ministry weekly intelligence Summary ?

hi jean, thank you for the prompt reply. do you know how I get a copy of the photo of Hans todt I don't think our library here would have a copy. did todt survive the war, do you know if the french police would have a report of the crash,and how to access that report from NZ. and the same question regarding the air ministry report for Aug '44 is it online thanks again dennis
