downed halifax night of 8/9 augurst 1944

can anyone check and confirm that this halifax of 161 sqn and was downed near the French/Belgium border ,and was credited to owf hans todt from !/jg301.This aircraft was dropping supplies to the french and was downed at the drop zone near Cugny, Aisne . Do we know if Hans Todt suvived the war? thanks dennis

Hello,

161 sqd Halifax V, LL358, MA-Y, mission SOE, crashed at Cugny (Aisne) SSW St Quentin. All crew KIA and buried St Quentin cemetery.

thanks for the reply Stephane, I have all the information on the mission from the british end. however I needed to have more on the German/French side of the action. I have reson to beleive the action was observed from the ground, perhaps from the ground party, but its only a guess on my part. I was told owf Hans Todt claimed a halifax on the night of 8/9 aug '44 in that area and I am trying to verify if that is correct. some things are a little hard to do from new zealand. I tried to read Tonys reports and found them difficult. perhaps more experance is needed.It maybe the claim was dated the 8th instead of the 9th. I thank you for your input once again dennis
