Bill Crawford Compton- acting Flight Lieutenant
Can anyone tell me where Bill Crawford Compton trained as a fighter pilot, when he joined 603 Squadron and when he was made a flight commander in 485 Squadron? I believe he may have become leader of a flight in February 1942 but my sources are a bit vague.

Thanks Ross, this is the same fellow but he had been an Acting Flight Lieutenant since the Spring of 1942 (although it was a year before he was promoted to War Substantive).
