Compiling information RE: Luftwaffe shot down 04.07.1944

			Hello all,

I am trying to compile information about Luftwaffe fighter losses on 4th July 1944 (in particular Bf 109s). I understand from a post on another forum that there were 39 fighters lost in total for that day but I am trying to understand which ones were shot down in aerial combat, and which were shot down by anti-aircraft or other means, and where they were. If anyone is able to provide any information about where aircraft were lost, and how they were shot down, I will be most grateful. Kind regards, Ian |

Wow, thanks you so much Laurent! That's exactly what I was looking for. And to answer your question Nick, I will be looking specifically at the normandy area but wanted to get all the aircraft and then work backwards from that. I am trying to work out a specific aircraft that was shot down having been provided co-ordinates of where it apparently crashed (in the LAA war diary) but no way of identifying it. Hoping to at least cut the list down to a small list of potentials now.

Thank you both for your responses. Much appreciated. |
