Fröba´s Bf109E-3 of JG77

Hi,

I´m planning to build the Tamiya 1/48 Bf109E-3 in the markings of Fröba´s machine of JG77. I´ve been looking for reference pictures of this particular 109 (White 3) but I haven´t found any so far.
Does anyone have any pictures of White 3 or another 109E of JG77? Someone suggested that Fröba´s 109 had a yellow tail, any chance this could be true?

TIA
Martin

Hi,
you can find pics in Bo Widfelt's "The Luftwaffe in Sweden 1939-1945",
Monogram Publ., 1983 ISBN 0-914144-28-6.
No yellow tail I think.
Happy modelling

Re: Fröba´s Bf109E-3 of JG77

Hello

Tamiya's decals for Fröba's A/C is quite good. But enclosed profile of the tail should give some more color on the plane.(+ the werk.no as in Tamiya instuction)
In addition many A/C from 4/JG 77 had yellow wingtip on the top (not under).
I cant say for sure if Fröba's A/C had it but photos from his homebase (Herdla) show several planes with yellow on the top of the wing
The two victory marks on the tail was one Skua on 13 sept and one Blendheim on 20 oct. Both markings white with most likely RAF rundel on the top
