Wanted:Help, Fonts and advice making Decals

Hello to all of you,

As a modeller I am very interested to get started on making my own decals. However I need some help getting started.

-What font is to be used for Luftwaffe, USAAF and RAF a/c?
-Where can I find this/those font(s)?
-What kind of softwareprogramm do you use to make the decals in?
-If instead of drawing your own decals you use scanned decals, how does this affect the quality?

I would be very thankfull for your help, as I intent in near future to see if it is feasable to start my own decalline.
