Additional info sought about four Nachtjagd (Nachtschlacht) losses, 31 December 1944 - 1 January 1945
Dear all,
I am looking for additional info on the following four Nachtjagd losses sustained on the night of 31 December 1944 - 1 January 1945, all aircraft being engaged in Nachtschlacht (ground attack) sorties: 1./NJG4 Ju88 G-1 3C+LL (Uffz. Gruner and crew) WNr. 713755: where did the aircraft crash? (the a/c sortied to the St. Dizier-Paris area). 4./NJG1 Bf110 G-4 G9+GP (Uffz. Mikusky and crew) WNr. 140207: where did the aircraft crash (in Belgium?). 5./NJG2 Ju88 G-6 4R+KN (Uffz. Schulte and crew) that crashed at Palenberg, north of Aachen: what was the a/c's WNr? 5./NJG2 Ju88 G-6 4R+EN (Ofw. Kurz and crew) that crashed near Charleroi: what was the exact crash location and what was the a/c's WNr? Cheers and thanks for any details, Theo |

Re: Additional info sought about four Nachtjagd (Nachtschlacht) losses, 31 December 1944 - 1 January 1945
Hi Theo,
I've emailed you some information separately. 1./NJG4 Ju88 G-1 3C+LL (Uffz. Gruner and crew) WNr. 713755: where did the aircraft crash? (the a/c sortied to the St. Dizier-Paris area). Sorry, can't help you on the crash location of W.Nr. 713755 (3C+LL), but two crew are buried at Andilly (Meurthe-et-Moselle). 4./NJG1 Bf110 G-4 G9+GP (Uffz. Mikusky and crew) WNr. 140207: where did the aircraft crash (in Belgium?). Once again, I can't help with the crash location of 140207 (G9+GY/GP), but two crew are buried at Lommel. 5./NJG2 Ju88 G-6 4R+KN (Uffz. Schulte and crew) that crashed at Palenberg, north of Aachen: what was the a/c's WNr? Ju88G-6 W.Nr. 620872 (4R+KN). 5./NJG2 Ju88 G-6 4R+EN (Ofw. Kurz and crew) that crashed near Charleroi: what was the exact crash location and what was the a/c's WNr? Ju88G-6 W.Nr. 620810 (4R+EN/EW) Cheers Rod |

Re: Additional info sought about four Nachtjagd (Nachtschlacht) losses, 31 December 1944 - 1 January 1945
140207, started from Werl nd giver to hv crashed near Werl, inspected by americans in ..1947 at that time crew given a conventional rest place, seems to be G9+GY nd unit changed from II. to IV. group
620872 could be 620172, but a 4R+KN as 620872 is documented in nov. 44 620810 EN or EM... Rémi |

Hello,
The aircraft of Mikuski's crew was ju88G4 "G9 + GY" crashed at "Heer sur Meuse". The crew consisted of: uffz Konrad Mikuski, Alfred Overbeck, Heinz Hermann Gobrecht. I believe that my information comes from the book "the air war in the Ardennes vol3" cordially Joel |
