Correct JG 52 insignia

Looks like there are really two version out there. Which is the correct one, I guess an old picture might settle the dispute, I haven't been able to find it. I hope someone can help.
One version is something like in these pictures:

In some others, it looks like the three lines on either side of the knife are joined to form a wing like (if you look closely) in this one:

Thanks.

Re: Correct JG 52 insignia

Almost all badges can be seen with minor variations. We can´t talk about an "official" pattern. Doing a photographic research you can notice several badges where modified during their "operationa life". Just notice a good amount was done by free hand. Few ones where aplied with decals or similar way. Most consistent shape are found on the ones done using masks.
Variations happens in other air forces also. Brazilian´s Senta a Pua! in Italy was done by hand so you can find differences almost in all them!
Anyway, photographic proof is your way to avoid mistakes instead based in published drawings only.

Thanks for the reply, you do raise the question I should have been able to figure on my own. But still I think there would be one correct version of it, maybe its harder to figure it out than what I thought.
