Conflicting information? See https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/52631
Perhaps JG 1 experts can tell more. Winkeln and Hardt are on west side of Mönchen-Gladbach. Regards, Leendert |

It would appear the pilot survived without any injuries hence his name was not recorded

Re: info sought about FW190A3 crashed 7 August 1942 in Holland
Then quite coincidental with info about Wnr. 2213 and Wnr. 132213, apparently both belonging to IV/JG1, crashing on the same day....
Actual loss cards for both may give the answers. Vinkel and Winkeln mixed up? Regards, Leendert |

That will making any sence and have not a thought about this!! I have asked around in the village and hist soc and no one could confirm this. It looks like that indeed Winkeln and Vinkel mixed up. I don't know the source for the info about the crash at Vinkel. Thank you very much (also Schnautzer, Chris) for your participation. Cheers, Adrian |

Re: info sought about FW190A3 crashed 7 August 1942 in Holland
stated on https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/52631 that IV/JG1 was stationed at München Gladbach. Found on the web that this unit was based at Woensdrecht. Any clues??
Regards and again many thanks, Adrian |

Re: info sought about FW190A3 crashed 7 August 1942 in Holland
WNr. 2213 and 132213 refer to the same machine - it all depends from where you find the loss information. Prior to 1943 the losses were generally reported by the LW with, at most 4 digits, i.e. 2213, whereas a lot of published sources like to tack on a leading digit or two to give a 5 or 6-digit WNr. An FW 190A-3 might show up as WNr. 132213, 32213 or 2213 - all usually referring to the same machine. If it had been an A-2? WNr. 122213, 22213 or just 2213. It can all be quite confusing for the A-2s and A-3s. (There can be similar issues with A-4s, A-5s and A-6s too.)
