Messerschmitt Me 261
This long range type was designed among other things for long distance missions, such as to fly from Berlin to Tokyo to carry the Olympic Torch, after the Berlin Olympics.
Prototypes V1 to V3 were built. Late in the war V3 was used by Auklarungsgruppe / Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe to carry out ultra long range reconaissance missions. But does anyone have any details of what these missions entailed and where the target area was? Western Europe or Russia?
