3./KG 6
In the night of 25/26 july 1943 the crew of Lt. Gerhard Keppler was shot down by a nightfighter east of syracuse. Jan Horn is his book about the history of KG 6 says they were flying Ju 88A-14,3E+HK s/n 144602. The Kracker DB and the luftwaffe Career Summaries states it was the 3E+ML s/n 144683. Also I Am looking for the correct Christian name off Gefr. Neu: Edwin or Erwin? According to the book of Jan Horn he was the “beobachter”.
Tia for the additional info. Kind regards, Dirk |

Re: 3./KG 6
Dirk
Something is not 100% correct in Horn's book In the general text he says (p 121) that Rehfuss was StKap 3./KG 6 and took off in 3E+ML and was missing after landing, just like 3E+HK which was flown by Kreppler and crew. On p 229 Rehfuss is listed as the StKap of 3./KG 6! However on p 254 he reverse this and place Rehfuss in 2./KG 6 WNr 144602 3E+HK and Kreppler in 3./KG 6 WNr 144683 3E+ML.... On page 321 he place Rehfuss again in 3./KG 6 and on page 310 Kreppler (misspelled as Krepler) also in 3./KG 6 Main problem is most likely that 3./KG 6 flew at least one mission that day with an aircraft borrowed from 2./KG 6 (WNr 144602 3E+HK). It is more difficult to know which crew was in which aircraft, but a "feeling" is that a table is usually more accurate than a general text statement, so I would go for Rehfuss in WNr 144602 and Kreppler in WNr 144683 B Rgds Stig |

Re: 3./KG 6
This also matches those losses as reported in the Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #11)-Vol.21.
