Re: About Sgt Sergiusz Maciejewski (RAF 302 Squadron).
Too bad the aircrewremembered link you gave does not include the dates he was in each squadron. It appears his first assignment, 304 Sqn, was a bomber squadron flying Wellingtons.
I did find on this link: http://www.polishsquadronsremembered.../317Story.html, that he was in the 317 squadron in August, 1944. I think that squadron was then operating as a fighter/bomber squadron. |

Re: About Sgt Sergiusz Maciejewski (RAF 302 Squadron).
His claim was on 17 Aug. 1944 with 317, flying from Plumetot B.10 where they had moved from Ford ( 131 (Polish) Wing, 302 Sqn. S/L Krol, 308 Sqn. S/L Retinger, 317 Sqn. S/L Miksa ). All Spitfire IXs.
He is not on 302's pilot listing so evidently flew no ops. with them. 577 was an Army / Navy Co-operation Sqn. and had several Allied pilots so he may have spent some flying time there. Regards Nick |

Re: About Sgt Sergiusz Maciejewski (RAF 302 Squadron).
Sergiusz Maciejewski came to 58 OTU on 17 March 1943 and after finishing course got post to 302 Sqn on 24 May 1943. On 21 January 1944 he moved to 577 Sqn. On 18 April 1944 he got post to 317 Sqn. On 17 August he claimed Fw 190 damaged [Spitfire LF.IX, JH-X (NH198)]. On 12 December 1944 he went to Polish base in Blackpool and he didn't operational fly later.

Quote:
Hi, that's not true. Sgt Maciejewski was the operational pilot in 302 Sqn. He was a member of Ramrod 154 on 25 July 1943 or Ramrod 396 on 30 December 1943. There are more his ops sorties in 302 ORB. Regards |
