Hello,

I would like to know to which Carrier squadron the letters PK affixed to the nose of a C47 are assigned ?

C/ns 13179 to 13778 - C-47A-25-DK - Contract No AC-28405: 42-93284 to 42-93823 and every tenth aircraft from block 42-108934 to 42-108993, commencing c/n 13188 (p.435).

C/n 13661 42-93718 Delivered 19 June 1944 - 9 AF - 09 July 1944 - 27 ATG, 87(86?) ATS - Oberpfaff(enhofen). 01 January 1948 - Salvage comp 03 May 1948 (P.447).

Just to note it may well be the 87th ATS, as I have noted that somewhere I had seen reference to the 27th ATG, 67th ATS. Maybe the "6" was a printers error ?
The 27th ATG spent its time from September 44 until June 45 with the 8th AAF when it returned to the 9th AAF.

Hello,
P was 312th FS (also referred as 312th TS) squadron's code and K individual letter. Part of 27th TG and some time 31st TG.
27th TG's 86th TS was coded T, 321st TS coded C, 311th FS coded S, 312th FS coded P, HQ coded W.
On the other side of the world PK was No 38 RAAF sqn's code, e.g. Dakota PK-O A65-25 with civilian registration VH-CTX, at Labuan 1945.
