unidentified JGr.Ost claimants

Hi Guys

My JGr.Ost losses mikrofilm doesn't cover 1944. Apart from those in January 1944 for which I have only date and time there are several pilots I cannot identify.
There are trainee pilots who make their first claim with this final training unit, and those that are accomplished pilots doing a stint as a trainer.

Anyway:-

4./JGr.Ost 7th July 1944 ofw Herzog a B-24 at 1220 hrs. I have a Uffz Willi Herzog making three claims for B-17's on 11th June 1943, 13th June 1943 and 10th October 1943 with 2./JG 1, thereafter as far as I'm concerned he disappears, could he have been promoted and done a training stint?

2./JGr.Ost 16th September 1943 Ofw Grosse a B-17 at 1913 hrs. Ofw Heinrich Grosse of Stab and 8./JG 52 makes a claim on 27th May 1943 with 8./JG 52, then as far as I can see he disappears, could they be the same guy?

1./JGr.Ost 31st December 1943 a B-17 at 1210 hrs by an Ofhr Botte, any idea what his forename and fate were?

1./JGr.Ost 29th May 1944 a B-17 at 1308 hrs by Uffz Müller, again any idea of his forename and fate?

2./JGr.Ost 31st December 1943 a B-17 at 1230 hrs by an Uffz who's surname I can't read, but looks like "Sch...aburg", any idea of his name and fate?

4./JGr.Ost 31st December 1943 a B-24 at 1235 hrs again an Uffz who's surname I can't read, but looks like "Flikhoff", again any idea of who this was and what his fate was?

Grateful as always for any assistance with these mysteries that have baffled me for twenty-five years !

Kind Regards

Johannes

Re: unidentified JGr.Ost claimants

Your 31st December 43 enquiry: Uffz. Heinrich Eickhoff at 1235 and possibly Gefr. Siegfried Schuelmayer at 1310 with Uffz. Schiesseburg at 1230

29th May: Uffz. Gerhard Mueller-Berneck

Re: unidentified JGr.Ost claimants

Dear Nick

Eickhoff would be correct, very likely Schiesseburg also. Müller-Berneck there is a discrepancy with the rank, but some times hyphenated names are shortened, but unlikely. With Schülmayer I think you looked into the incorrect time.

Thanks for your assistance, I will see where it leads onto.

Thanks again

Kind Regards

Johannes
