Blenheim crash 30 March 1940, details of aircraft needed…

Hi all,

Does anyone have any reference to a Blenheim crashing into the sea off the coast of Heswall.

This occurred on 30 March 1940. I cannot find any evidence to this incident.

Thanks

Danny

Hi Danny,
Could only find two possibilities.

27-3-1940
Blenheim IV - L8747 - 107 Sqdn. Shot down.
AIR 81/105.

And

1-4-1940
Blenheim IV - L8867 - 82 Sqdn. Downed by Flack Ship.
AIR 81/109.

Alex

It comes from a ORB for the unit I am researching.

Sounds a bit like something I have been researching for a friend. Two Fw 190s shoot down and damage two Spitfires, second Spitfire damages one of the Fw 190s. ASR send to look for assumed 190 crash in sea, find nothing. Next day they are sent out again and find oil slick. Meanwhile both 190 pilots are tucked up in bed at Triqueville
