Robert Morris Baker (009016)
AvCad USNR; Designated Naval Aviator #11104 - 1/31/1942 2LT, USMCR; Date of rank in 1 Jan 1945 Lineal List USMC/USMCR Officers - 2/9/1942 MAJ, USMCR; Date of rank in 1 Jan 1945 Lineal List USMC/USMCR Officers - 7/30/1944 Frank Olynky’s Stars and Bars – A Tribute to the American Fighter Ace 1920-1973 shows that he left service in December 1945. I suspect that he was leaving active duty in December 1945 as he shows up in the 1949 USNR/USMCR register as a Major. The next USMCR register I have is 1956 and Baker is not listed. Note that his status when designated a naval aviator was as an AvCad USNR. His date of rank as a 2LT will probably be close enough for his entering USMCR service. |
