Luftwaffe BOB Combat Reports and Losses in the Bundesarchiv

I have come across a couple of combat reports for Fw Erwin Kortlepel of 4./JG 3 in the RL 10/253 files at the BAMA. Is anyone aware of other combat reports for the Battle of Britain period that are currently available for download from the Bundesarchiv?

I have also located an extensive series of loss reports for JG 26 in the "Jagdgeschwader 26 "Ehrenbuch" (Book of Honour)" in the RL 10/267 files. Does anyone know of any other BOB loss records that are also available for download?

Peter

There is no central file of such reports and in my experience it is very much hit and miss as to when these turn up. I know that 1./JG 53 for 1939-40 are there as I have them hard copy. Recently, some of 7./JG 2's combat reports for 1942 onward appeared. As to "loss reports" do you mean NVMs?

Thanks Chris, the JG26 loss reports that I am referring to are in a single bound volume RL 10/267, with the partial title of Jagdgeschwader 26 "Ehrenbuch". You mention the 1./JG 53 reports, do you have an RL number for them?

I do not have the RL number but others might. I obtained these reports 30+ years ago.............

So does this Ehrenbuch use the NVMs or what?

I think it is a table of victories for 4./JG 3 (or photo of) as opposed to a document? Kortlepel only got 3 in the BofB?

Yes, a photo. Let me see if I can reproduce it adequately.

No idea how to post images on this site. Peter, send me your email and I'll forward the image.
