Missing Me410 in Sweden?

Hi
I want to ask for your help.

I have a confirmed Messerschmitt Me 410 control stick/grip KG13B, identified by the V30 marking, which is specific to the Me 410. What makes it especially interesting is the find context: it was reportedly recovered at the American crash site immediately after the crash by an 11-year-old boy who lived nearby and was the first on the scene together with his 9 year old brother.

That raises an obvious question: how did a part from a German Me 410 end up at the site of an American crash in Sweden on 20 October 1944?

The American aircraft was one of the secret courier aircraft connected to Project Sonnie, flying from Leuchars, Scotland, to Sweden. Because of bad weather, the aircraft was redirected from Bromma to Torslanda at the west coast, and one of the planes crashed near the lake Anten. Contemporary accounts and later testimony mention several strange details: an unknown 2nd aircraft reportedly circling the crash area, sound of bullet fire, possible bullet holes in some wreckage, contradictory explanations in the official reporting, and a general sense that not everything was fully explained.

The Me 410 identification is correct, and if the control grip really was recovered from the site immediately after the crash, then there are, in my opinion, two serious possible scenarios:

1. The Me 410 part was inside the American aircraft.
It may have been carried on board as a souvenir, trophy, or technical item. This is the most cautious explanation, because it does not require a second aircraft to have been directly involved in the incident.

2. A Me 410 was somehow involved that night.
That does not automatically mean the American aircraft was shot down by a Me 410, but it does mean a German aircraft may have had some connection to the event. If so, the most likely place for contact would not have been directly over the crash site, but earlier along the route — over the North Sea, Skagerrak, Kattegat, or near the Swedish west coast — where a German aircraft would have had a more realistic chance of spotting and following the American planes coming in from Scotland. In that case, the Me 410 part could be a trace of a still undocumented or poorly documented German loss, emergency landing, crashed in the lake or related incident in the area.

We may never know for certain which explanation is correct. But if anyone knows of a Messerschmitt Me 410 missing, lost, or unaccounted for close to 20 October 1944, especially in the Skagerrak/Kattegat/Swedish west coast area, that information would be highly relevant.

I would be very interested in hearing from anyone with:
• records of Me 410 losses around 20 October 1944
• references to German night activity in the area
• reports of a missing aircraft in western Sweden or nearby waters
• unit records for Me 410 operations in Scandinavia, Denmark, or northern Germany at that time

Because if this part truly came from the crash site that same night, then it is hard to dismiss it as irrelevant. It suggests that there may be more to this story than the official explanation tells us.
Thank you
Regards Karl-Johan
