13 Oct 1939 Do 18 attacked bu fighter

On 13 Oct 1939 Do 18 K6+AK #839 2/KuFlGr 406 suffered 75% damage by fighter attack. Anyone no which unit?

Bundesarchiv RM 6/123 (page 27):
10.10 hrs. in Map Square 7933 two English destroyers (Ex. "Burza") course North.
11.15 hrs. in Map Square 7933 one reconnaissance aircraft attacked by two English fighters and took about 60 hits (Do 18). Suspicion that the enemy used explosive bullets was sent in a special report at 16.45. Numerous bullet fragments in Bordwart's thigh wound.

While on a reconnaissance of the Thames Estuary, the leader's aircraft [Führerflugzeug] of 3./406 was attacked by British fighters and took 60 hits. The bullot holes showed signs of burning whose cause has yet to be explained.
