Re: LW KC winner Oblt. Hans-Adolf Meyer.

Hello Victor,

This is what I found in Georg Brütting's book 'Das waren die deutschen Stuka-Asse 1939-1945' :
Born on 10 September 1920 in Nordstrand, Husum;
RK on 6 april 1944 as a Oblt. and 'Staffelführer' of 8./SG 3;
Kia on 1 juli 1944 'Im Nordabschnitt der Ostfront';
Sorry no picture found.
Hope this helps,

Dirk

Just to add to Dirk's post:
According to Veit Scherzer's "Die Träger des Deutschen Kreuzes in Gold der Luftwaffe 1941-1945", Meyer was also awarded the DKiG on June 4, 1943 as an Oberleutnant in II./Stukageschwader 3.

Also recommend you try and get a copy of Ernst Obermaier's Die Ritterkreuzträger der Luftwaffe 1939=1945 Band II: Stuka- und Schlachtflieger. A potted history of Hans-Adolf Meyer, with photo, appears on page 117.

Cheers
Gordon
