Neil Wakefield is on a distinguished road
South African Air Force 1939

At the start of the war the SAAF had ten officers, thirty-five officer cadets, 1,600 men of other ranks, and 100 aircraft.
My question is how many of these aircraft were in operational squadrons as opposed to training units?

Thanks,

Neil
