NAG 13 Bf 109 losses, May 1944 and...

Today's additions to the Ghostbombers website are:
  • NAG 13 pages: two more accident reports on Bf 109 G-8 of 1./NAG 13 and a G-6 of the 3. Staffel (with tactical number and Werk Nummer in each case).
  • SG 4 Last Battles in Italy: 14 May 1944, link to a Signals Intelligence report on the bombing of Piacenza that day (including a track map of the bombers and defending fighters).
  • NSG 9: Chapter 10, German report on the shooting down of an Hs 126 added to the page on No. 249 Squadron's action over Yugoslavia on 26 May 1944.
  • Cover image, title and ISBN of a forthcoming book that I've contributed to.
  • Addition to the Kampfflieger Volume 4 introduction, linking to two reviews posted online by readers.
  • Additions to the Kampfflieger Volume 4 pages, linking to an online account of author Joseph Heller's combat experiences which include the German raid on airfields in Corsica in May 1944. (Thanks to Yves Marino)

Very nice additions to your already informative web site. Thank you!

Are you referring to the title: Schlachtflieger: Luftwaffe Ground-Attack Units?
If yes, how come on your web site you mention no less than seven co-authors (J. Richard Smith, Chris Goss, Martin Pegg, Andrew Arthy, Eric Mombeek, Nick Beale and Robert Forsyth), while on Ian Allan's web site there is only one, an eight, author (Christian-Jacques Ehrengardt) given? Just curious...

It's as Chris said and if you search on the Ian Allan site for "Schlachtflieger" you will find two versions of the cover design: (1) with an Hs 129 and C-JE as author; (2) with a Bü 181 and the Seven Authors.

One of my faavorite sites. I really like the idea that as new informations or corrections to a published work come to light, first they are posted and second in such a neat format.

Thank you,

Artie Bob
