Need help with painting
High guys, I'm new to the forum. This may seem a little off topic, but where the British fishermen allowed to fish the English Channel during the summer of 1940, and if so where their any forbidden areas? I am working on some drawings for a painting and any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Bob |

Re: Need help with painting
I don't think this is the right place to find an answer to such a question. I would suggest that you try to find a local historian (try the local authorities of some small English coast towns on the Channel and ask around). I'm sure there is a fisher museum somewhere in one of those towns, and if not anywhere else, there you will find the answer. I used such sources - not at all related to WW II aviation - to find similar details for one of my pilot biographies, with much success. I was surprised to find how helpful people are, even when it deals with a book on a subject which they don't have the slightest interest in. Good fishing luck!

Re: Need help with painting
Thank you for your reply Mr. Bergstrom, and thank you for writing such great books. I look forward to the Walter Schuck book. Have a cover illustration yet? I have contacted some museums in England they all tell me to contact the National Fishing Heritage Centre, but I am having trouble with their website,so I took a chance here. I do not have a website just yet, it should be done in a few months. If you would like, E mail me and send me your address, I would be more than happy to send you some samples of my paintings.
thanks, Bob |
