Hurricane downed in Med.

On 17 July, 1943, an USAAF OA-10 (Catalina) picked up a downed Hurricane pilot some 130 miles southeast of Malta. I believe the downed pilot had been at sea in his dinghy for some days before he was rescued.

Any information on the pilopt's name, his squadron and details of the Hurricane he was flying would be most welcome.
