Unknown Luftwaffe Spinner

Any thoughts on this? Seems early in style...hole for an engine mounted cannon?

No data plate.

This is the 2nd one I have seen of this type...

Thoughts?

TIA

Re: Unknown Luftwaffe Spinner

Hello,

it could be one of a very early He 111.

Re: Unknown Luftwaffe Spinner

Hi...

Having had a look at some photos, I think it looks a bit like an He100's spinner, which would probably make it quite a find... .

Re: Unknown Luftwaffe Spinner

hello,
the front of the spinner is having an opening of almost 10cm for a macine gun, so we have to look for a plane that has there a machine gun, as i don't know the HE did HE 111 and HE 100 had this ?
cheers
phil,

Re: Unknown Luftwaffe Spinner

Hi, Philippe...

The photo below - an old e.bay item from earlier this year - shows an early He111... this 'P' version and the early 'H' versions had short, quite pointed spinners like this with a small hole in the front.

will hopefully show you an He100. That spinner is slightly elongated compared to the He111, and the hole in the front appears to be a bit larger, although I don't know the exact dimesions.

Regards,

Paul
