It was P-51D 44-14325 CV-N. Apparently hit by allied ground fire near Ingwiller, France but have no details of crash site.

Phil

Phil,

In this story http://www.littlefriends.co.uk/359FG/05_Apr_OC.pdf
the town St. Genis de Saintonge is mentioned for Lt John Marr...
Go to page 6.

Regards,

Leendert

Re: 359th FG 368th FS 29/01/1945

Peter,

A kind request to check again, but somehow 44-14325 is mentioned with 479th FG/435th FS instead, and according to website aviationarchaeology.com was involved in a taxying accident as late as 8 May 1945 at Merville, France...

Regards,

Leendert
