Re: USA Fighters crashed in Salerno 21 sept 1943?
Spitfire EF550 (RAF) reportedly crashed 55 m. S. of Salerno, but then on 23-9-43.
On 21 Sep 43 2nd Lt William F. Imwall of 31st FG/309th FS was killed. This FG was in the process of transferring from Sicily to Montecorvino. However, I don't know the circumstances of his death. Regards, Leendert
