F/O Funk R.C.A.F
Looking for details on this officer.
F/O F.J or P.J Funk J8876 RCAF Pilot of No.195(B) Squadron, RAF Witchford who crash landed his Avro Lancaster Mk.B.III (HK663 A4-?) on return from the daylight raid on Homburg November 2nd 1944. His crew bailed out and were taken PoW after the Lancaster was hit by heavy flak while over the target area, crash landed on the Allied 8th Corps Front and taken to a Canadian Field Hospital. One crew member was killed and buried in Groesbeek Canadian Cemetery. Any details on this officer and 8th Corps location on this date. TIA Steve |
