Re: Sonderstaffel Gamringer
Sonderstaffel Gamringer is covered on page 369 of volume 2 of our Dive-Bomber and Ground-Attack Units of the Luftwaffe, 1933-1945. Volume 1 was just published by Ian Allan last month and volume 2 is scheduled for publication in spring 2010.
We concluded that Sonderstaffel Gamringer was simply the tactical name for one of the Staffeln belonging to Störkampfgruppe Luftflotte 6. Unfortunately, we were unable to identify the specific Staffel due to the paucity of surviving documentation. The Staffelkapitän was Hptm./Major Johann Gamringer. L.
