Re: confused by a Plane...
Are you talking about the aircraft that took part in estblishing a German reporting base behind Allied lines in North Africa? If so, it belonged to Kommando Süd, eventually (if not already) the Kommando was a part of KG 200.
The aircraft's code seems more likely to have been AI+AZ, I think from some of the documents I have seen. It may have been transcribed as A1 sometimes, though.
