Who claimed 609 Sqn "kill"

Good Evening folks, On the 18th June 1941, Sydney Hill of 609 Squadron was involved in combat with a Bf109 resuting with him being killed when his Spitfire PR-H (W3211) crashed. Can anyone tell me who claimed the "kill"? What happened to him? Did he survive the war? Any info greatly received. Del.

Del

Checking various second hand sources, such as Foreman and Caldwell it looks like Hill was claimed by a combined force of pilots of III./JG 26. The claim was seemingly attributed to the Gruppe and not to any singular individual.

Best Regards
Stig

...and it is unlikely that the precise pilot will be known as the actual crash might not have been witnessed

Re: Who claimed 609 Sqn "kill"

Times of combat were 1825-1840 hrs off Gris Nez. They were bounced by Bf 109s & he managed to get back but crash-landed, flipped over and burned "5 miles west of Dover 2 miles inland". Form F is very detailed on this action but adds little more in the way of proof
