White "A" letter, so it must be ??+AH. Somewhere I saw that face... 14./LG1?

Re: Bf 110 photos

L1+JH photo, with that puzzling silhouette of a Bf 110 on the engine cowling of the nearest machine again...!

Not necessarily so, Evgeny, for letters painted on the uppersurfaces of the wing.

Re: Bf 110 photos

John,

thanks for pointing out this odd badge... Any idea if this was an individual plane badge or relevant for all LG 1 machines in this time frame?

Cheers

Re: Bf 110 photos

May I ask you, both experts on the Bf 110 and its Squadrons:
WHO was the pilot of S2+GA, from SG 77? And by the way..wish some of you bag this mervellous picture of the rudder...a very beautiful one indeed.
Yours and thanks for the information on the pilot.
Adriano

Marc,

That silhouette appears on several photos of early Bf 110s. Fernando and I have never been able to work out why it was applied to the engine cowling of some machines. It may have been some kind of in-flight distance indicator for formation flying. Other than that, I haven't a clue.

Adriano,

Never delved into the Stukageschwader, so I haven;t any idea who flew S2+GA. Someone with in depth information may be able to hazard a guess from the personnel of the Geschwaderstab of SG77.

John,

This is quite a fascinating hypothesis! Thanks for your insight.
