Yes, some victories which have given title - shot down /destroyed, later such planes often returned to own base, and fly again.
Some planes claimed as a damaged/podbit - in fact had crashed and were total destroyed. Each side had many such cases, not only Soviet. This is not simple, :-( , only maching fights on both sides you may find the answer, it is very interesting indeed, and many facts would surface in different lights. Regards, mirekw
