The Air Britain Serials DA100-DZ999 has DR 344 as one of a batch of Hurricanes rebuilt from Mk1s between July and Sept 1941 and despatched to Russia.The previous ID as L1562 is recorded. Depending on how early the photo was taken the airfield MIGHT! be Martlesham Heath which was the home of AAEE before they moved to Boscombe. Tim Mason in his book "The Secret Years"(which covers 1939-1945 at Boscombe) does not record L1562 as having been at Boscombe at all.The only other suggestion I could make would be DeHavilland's own airfield at Hatfield.
