If I remember this photo is of a Ju88 whoes crew baled out over France and it flew minus its crew back to Godstone Surrey see The Blitz T&N vol 2 page 302 - Ju 88 of 6/KG77 at 0130hrs on 28-11-40 at Blindley Heath, Regards Brian Bines

So is the current view of this incident that it didn't actually crash at Godstone but in the Solent? Or did it crash on land at Chilgrove?

In the absence of any reliable information to the contrary I am of the opinion that it went into the Solent.

Thank you Peter, I noticed that the Hampshire Aircraft Crashes site had the location as in the Solent also.
