Re: eBay: one late war Bf 109
If the caption "Ampfing" on the back of the photo is correct, then it should be the airfield at Mühldorf-Mettenheim!

Yes Christian,
You've been quicker! Note on map that his journey did stop at Erding too. Note three coloured spinner. |

Hello Franck,
i am a little bit puzzled. The linear distance between Ampfing and Erfurt is about 320 km... Best Regards Norbert

As I wrote in this quoted post the spinner is three coloured. Now, I just stumble on JG 53 book, part 4 and last one, by JL Roba where we can find - very known picture - this photo. So, what you think? Last edited by ouidjat; 10th January 2014 at 17:46. |

Re: eBay: one late war Bf 109
Hi Chris,
This is the fourth and last part of JG 53 history written by J.L. Roba and published by Lela during summer. The extracted photo is not a new one since I got it well before on web and is not included in JG 53 history but in last chapter dedicated to K-4 machines. Anyway. We still are talking about that late war machine found in Ampfing with three colored spinner, and the extracted photo shows us a three coloured spinner too. Just a small step in a small trail... Regards, Franck. |
