Seems to me that Charles "Windmill" Demoulin spoke of this mission in his book ("Mes oiseaux de feu" in French), but I don't have it at hand.
Edited: the english translation is called "Firebirds! Typhoon in action". Just in case

Thanks Laurent. He did write about it-just irritating that the only source apart from that is the F540

Thanks but Shelton got separated from the main body of fighters which attacked the Ju 188s
