Re: Detailed list of losses in the Mediterranean june 1943
Here are 3 accidents with total loss of AC:
9 June 1943 The Spitfire Vb ER759 of 4th FS, 52nd FG crashed at La Sebala, Tunisia. The pilot, 1st Lt Donald W Markley, was killed. 25 June 1943 The P-40L 42-10876 of 14th TCG was lost to engine failure 105 miles north of Atar, Tunisie. The pilot, Jack W John, bailed out. 28 June 1943 The P-39M 42-4844 of 92nd FQ, 81st FG, suffered engine failure over the Mediterranean Sea. Its pilot, Ronald I Moeller, bailed out 10 miles off Tafaroui, Algeria, and was rescued. The webpage http://www.aviationarchaeology.com/src/AARmonthly/Jun1943O.htm is listing these losses and other accidents but from the other accidents in Med area one can't know if the AC was totalled or not.
