Re: Loss German fighter 7-4-1945
Hello Harrie, Nick and John,
the 7th of April 1945 was the day of the ramming attacks of the "Sonderkomando Elbe". All other units must stay at there basis. There was only one Me262 unit from Kaltenkirchen south of Hamburg shorty in action. If the crashed plane was a Messerschmitt Bf109 it can be only from Sonderkomando Elbe! There are six Flugzeugführer (Pilots) still missing from that day. I had searched at lot for the missing ones in northern Germany and stay in contact to the German Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge e.V. Please look over any further information at your area in the Netherlands for this crash. Please ask older people in the town Anloo for any information or a grave. Best wishes Ruediger |
