Not really. Having no middle name and common surname will be a hard man to trace. From his number he enlisted at Padgate between April and November 1941.

You might want to grab any of the four combat reports listed for him at Kew in the AIR50 series as they would have his OTU listed. At £3.30 each, probably worth a shot: http://discovery.nationalarchives.go...o.+56+Squadron

Or get his, if he filled one out, liberation questionnaire in WO208 series at Kew. These aren't online but would have his address and date of birth.
